Genetically, whose penis size is to blame?
Although this is a very complex issue, we are made up of genes inherited from our parents and therefore each of us is a unique human being who carries a genetic heritage, which goes back to our most ancient ancestors.
First we must say that the size of the penis is not what really matters to women. However, if you like to brag about your huge penis size or if you're a little curious as to why your penis isn't that big, it's time to find out the genetic culprit for it: mom or dad.
DNA: the information store
When you are in the mother's womb, the fetus does not have boy or girl characteristics until it is 7 weeks old.
Men have XY chromosomes, women XX. One of each is donated to form the baby.
If the fetus has the Y chromosome on the paternal side, the testes begin to form, if it is the X chromosome, the ovaries develop.
Being male or female is determined by the father, but it is the mother who is responsible for passing on the characteristics of penis size, as this is determined by the X chromosome inherited from the mother.
Other determining factors for penis size
Other factors that influence size can be the exposure of pregnant women to pollutants and chemicals with endocrine disruptors that mimic estrogen, which can interfere with the penis growth process. These chemicals can be pesticides, plastics and some cosmetics.
The hormones that will determine the size of the penis are testosterone and growth hormone and, although they are present throughout life, it is only until puberty that the size and width of the penis is defined. A deficiency of these hormones leads to a smaller penis.
There is no correlation between the size of the feet and hands and the size of the penis. Nor is there a significant correlation with ethnicity.
