Micropenis: features and treatments
A micropenis is a penis that is small in size but without malformation or functional problem. This condition affects about 0.06% of the male population. It is detected from birth if the baby has a penis smaller than 1.9 cm. In adults, the size of a micro penis measures less than 4 cm at rest and less than 7 cm in erection.
It should be noted that many men think they have a micropenis, although this is not the case, simply because they tend to underestimate the size of their penis and consider it too small for their liking.
Micropenis can be confused with buried penis, which can be found in overweight men. In this case, due to the accumulation of fat in the pubic area, the base of the penis is masked, thus appearing shorter, although it is of normal size.
What causes a micropenis?
Although the causes are poorly understood, micropenis is often linked to hormonal imbalance, with insufficient testosterone production.
In some cases, testosterone production is normal, but the tissues of the penis are insensitive to it. Thus being a possible genetic cause for chromosomal abnormalities.
Environmental factors may also be involved, such as exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals during pregnancy, when the baby boy was being formed in the mother's womb.
For example, in a region of Brazil where some pesticides were used, there was an increase in genital abnormalities and the occurrence of micropenis. In a study of 2,710 babies, researchers found that exposing pregnant women, before and during pregnancy, to fertilizers with high levels of chemicals that act as endocrine disruptors led to these abnormalities.
Associated risks
Micropenis poses no health risks and, in most cases, is not associated with deformities. It does not affect fertility or the ability to feel pleasure, but it can cause discontent.
In fact, many affected men often lack self-confidence. They feel affected in their virility and are sometimes ashamed of their situation in relation to their sexual partner. They find it difficult to have satisfying sex and do not feel that they are capable of giving pleasure to the other person.

Hormone treatment
Micropenis is often detected from birth. In this case, the child can be prescribed hormonal treatment, which consists of testosterone injections for a period of a few months. This slightly increases the growth of the genital organ. In some cases, treatment can be restarted around puberty. However, the length of the penis still remains below average most of the time. One study suggests that successful treatment adds at least 3.5 cm in length.
Surgery to enlarge the penis
Surgical operations can be performed, but the results obtained are not always satisfactory. For example, it is possible to cut the suspensory ligament of the penis, making it appear larger. It is also possible to make injections of silicone or fat taken from the patient, which mainly makes it possible to increase the diameter.
penis extender
Penis extenders are devices worn on the resting penis. They exert a pulling force and elongate the penis, which in the long run allows it to gain some length, both in the flaccid state and in the erection.

2. Does a woman date a micropenis man?
Some women don't, but others do. Responses from women on sites like Reddit and BuzzFeed, whose partners had smaller penises, indicated that many of these partners were great with their hands and mouth, perhaps to "compensate" for their lack of penis size. When relationships ended, it had more to do with romantic inconsistencies, sexual selfishness, or men's insecurities for fear of not satisfying the woman.
