7 facts and 3 myths about the penis

That the penis is man's greatest sanctuary, we already know. Therefore, it is understandable to always want more information about this body.

The Most Amazing Penis Facts and Myths of All

We will openly talk about anatomy, erection, ejaculation and the sensitive areas of men and clear up some misconceptions on the subject in some facts and myths about the penis.

facts about the penis

Fact 1: The eternal theme of size

Many men believe they have a small penis, when most of the time they are within the average penile.

When a man finds out what the average penis is, he may even be surprised to learn that his is within the normal range. Over or under sizes are the exceptions. The results of studies that check size never find the same number, as there can be a lot of interference in these. But in general the averages revolve around:

  • In the flaccid state, the average penis is 7.5 cm to 10.2 cm with a diameter of about 3.2 cm.
  • This may seem like an advantage for short men as it appears to be more “proportionate”.

  • In the erect state the penis averages 12 to 17 cm in length, the diameter is slightly less than 4 cm.

Penis size in the erect state is not proportional to the size of the flaccid state, nor is it related to height, size of hands or feet.

Fact 2: There are different penis shapes

The shape of the penis varies from man to man. Often, the penis is slightly curved to the right or left. Few penises are actually straight.

There are also many other shapes: tapered, continuously wide, conical or banana-shaped.

Fact 3: The penis is like a sponge inside

There are two types of erectile tissue: the corpora cavernosa and the corpus spongiosum.

The two erectile tissues of the penis are arranged laterally and form the back of the penis. They get hard and swollen during erection. They are what give the penis its hardness.

During an erection (similar to a soaked sponge), blood builds up so that it becomes really hard.

Fact 4: There are different erections

  • Erection at night: Nocturnal erection is not necessarily linked to an erotic thought or dream. Although, it always happens during the sleep phase. It is a pure reflection of the body. All men have several moments of erection at night and this is a good thing as this type of erection allows a good supply of oxygen to the erectile tissue of the penis.
  • Morning Erection: This is also a reflex erection. Morning erection is a holdover from nighttime erections and is not due to sexual arousal. But many men like this erection, after all, it guarantees the ideal resistance for morning sex, should it occur.
  • Erection during the day: Erections that occur during the day are in fact a sign of sexual arousal. This is caused by erotic thoughts, looking at an exciting scene, or by touch and stimulation.
  • Involuntary erection: this type of erection happens without prior sexual desire. The cause should be investigated, which can be erectile dysfunction, priapism symptom, among others.

Fact 5: Ejaculation happens in stages

But precisely it happens in two phases:

  • Emission: At this stage, seminal vesicles and fluid from the prostate accumulate in the first section of the urethra near the urinary bladder.
  • Ejaculation itself: at this stage, sperm comes out of the penis in jets, as in contractions. It occurs when there is already a large amount of sperm and the urethra is dilated. Once this process has been triggered, it cannot be stopped.

Fact 6: At the time of ejaculation, urine does not come out

When ejaculating, semen comes out of the same duct as urine. But don't worry: nature takes care that these two substances don't come into contact with each other.

In preparation for ejaculation, a specific fluid is secreted that is used to hydrate and help remove acid from the urine that can damage sperm in the urethra.

Then, a sort of temporary seal under the bladder ensures that no urine can leak out of the bladder. This means that the phenomena of ejaculation and urination are absolutely separate from each other (except in the case of an anomaly or after a prostate operation).

Fact 7: The glans is not the only erogenous part of the penis

The head of the penis, that is, the glans, is the most erogenous part. It contains an extremely large number of nerve endings. However, it is not the only sensitive one.

The frenulum is the strip of skin that connects the lower part of the glans to the foreskin. This point, along with the glans, is one of the most erogenous zones in the male body.

The crown of the glans is also a highly sensitive area. This is the underside of the penis, where the penis is least hard. A massage at this point leads to intense sensations of pleasure.

Myths about the penis

Myth #1: Ejaculation Means Orgasm

This statement is incorrect, since a man can cum, that is, ejaculate without feeling any pleasure. They are different things and ejaculation without orgasm is more common than it seems.

Myth #2: Men get an erection whenever they want

Wrong! That would be too easy.

A man may have minor erectile dysfunction despite sexual desire. The lack of erection can actually be a health problem or just a momentary one, for example, due to the use of some medication, if you are under stress, tiredness or simply had a bad day.

Myth #3: The bigger the penis, the better

Wrong! Fortunately, this is bullshit. What matters most in sex is the hardness of the penis and the way it is used!

The inside of the vagina primarily responds to firm pressure. The most sensitive area is just a few centimeters away from the entrance to the vagina. Therefore, a smaller penis is absolutely sufficient.
